We have chosen one of the most popular resorts in Myrtle Beach to host our 2008 Season Kickoff.  The Ocean Reef Resort and its sister facility, the Long Bay Resort, will host the NSA Carolina's Hall of Fame Banquet and Awards Ceremony January 25-27, 2008.  They are offering us Ocean Front rates as low as $45.00 per night for a standard room (plus tax and resort fees) up to a 3 Bedroom Condo for $89.00 per night (plus tax and resort fees).  Both hotels offer indoor pools for the children and adults alike.  Our group rate is lower than any rate available on the Internet so you must call the hotels directly to get the NSA rate.  This is a great way to get ready for the 2008 softball season and what better place to do it than Myrtle Beach!!!

We'll start the weekend off with a State Director's Meet & Greet on Friday evening and get ready for a round of golf at the Possum Trot Golf Course on Saturday morning.  We will have a Fastpitch Seminar at the resort at 2:30pm to bring you up to date of the 2008 rule changes, tournament dates and many other important issues.  We will have two guest speakers, Kristi Killough and Brooke Flowers, at the Fastpitch Seminar so stay tuned for more info.  Saturday evening, our signature event will be the 5th Annual NSA Carolina's Hall of Fame Banquet and Awards Ceremony at the Ocean Reef Resort.  Everyone is invited to attend and join us in our celebration as we begin with a cocktail hour at 6:00pm and dinner at 7:15pm and awards ceremony immediately to follow.

Saturday, January 26th (2:30pm) - Fastpitch Seminar - Ocean Reef Meeting Room
Kristi Killough and Brooke Flowers will host this information packed 2 Hour Seminar.  Kristi and Brooke will tell about their careers and gives tips to players, coaches and parents on how to make your athlete successful.  They will also offer a Q&A session from the attendees and be available for photos and autographs afterwards. 
Kristi's bio:
4-year Varsity Player at UNC Charlotte.  While at UNCC, Kristi was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference team in 2006 and 2007.  Kristi is the All Time Homerun Leader at UNCC.  In addition to her hot bat, Kristi pitched and played outfield for the 49'ers while maintaining a better than 3.0 GPA.  After graduating, she accepted the Head Coaching Position at Central Cabarrus High School, the 2005 NC 4A-State Champions.  Kristi played travel softball with the Carolina Shockwaves, the Magic and several other teams.  Kristi has been working as a private instructor since 2001.
Brooke's bio:
4-year Varsity Player at the College of Charleston.  She was selected to the first team Southern Conference All-Conference team for three years, All Tournament team for three years, and was chosen the team MVP two years.  Brooke began her honors at South Florence High School where she was chosen as the High School Sports Report Player of the Year and the All Southeast first team, and third team All American.
NC State Director Howard Edwards and SC State Director Coleman Elliot will review the new rule changes for 2008 and the NSA Points System.  They will also cover other important issues pertaining to the youth softball programs.  Don't miss this one!
